What to expect: Seaview Resort & Spa dates from 1914, when the property opened as the private and quickly famous Seaview Country Club. It became a resort in 1984, but maintains a country-club tradition and ambience. Public areas, for example, display photos of Seaview's history and golf-guest notables, and a lobby lounge includes overstuffed leather chairs and wicker chaise lounges.

Amenity highlights: The resort’s spa includes a seasonal outdoor pool with spa tubs, an indoor pool (open year-round) with spa tub, and women's and men's facilities with nude-sunbathing courtyards (spa fees may apply). One of the golf courses plays host to an annual LPGA tournament. Complimentary facilities include tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts. Activities are scheduled for children, adults, and families.

Insider tip: Opened in 1857, Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City now includes a museum and a replica of the lightkeeper's house. Open daily in July and August and Thursday–Monday from September through June, the lighthouse has 238 steps that lead to a panoramic view of Atlantic City and the coast.
